Hey there
A warm and welcoming embrace, from me and the plants.

(Garden bumble photo-bombed my shot)
Lets delve a little into what I do and why, and maybe a little of what it's all about.
‘Roots Herbal Nursing’ came together as an amalgamation of my nursing experience, a love of science and life, and developing knowledge of plant medicine and holistic health practices.
(First BRAND LOGO - took an incredible amount of time to formulate this)
I primarily delved into herbal medicine as a functional and necessary practice focused on supporting family, friends, colleagues and my local community, with everyday ailments, managing illness, finding balance, and an improved level of ‘wellness’ overall.
This will forever remain central to my practice.
The herbal remedies and health-supporting plant applications you find here, are all sourced from organic/sustainable suppliers, wild-harvested or from my own wonderful garden, to ensure safe, trusted, and powerfully effective holistic system support for you.
From seed sowing, growing mediums and practices, cultivation, drying, and medicine-making, no chemical additives or additional ‘nasties’ have been involved. Just earth, bugs, sunshine, water, nutrients, and some timely harvesting.

(Sage Salvia officinalis - garden harvest and chopping for tincture making)
My hope is to cultivate a community of like-minded green people, who foster the same dedication to our wonderful planet and its plant life, and support one another to prioritise learning and ‘graft’ towards a brighter future for us all.
This blog will contain all sorts of information, herbal how-to’s, gardening progress, medicine-making, community discussion, and many many pictures of Marley (puppa) - of course! (what dog-mamma doesn’t share daily pics of her main man?).
Managing chronic health conditions while balancing a full life can be challenging, but my passion for herbal medicine and helping others compels me onwards, despite some physical limitations.
This passion fuels my dedication to learning and development as a herbalist and helps me navigate my health journey with resilience and optimism. Positively affecting people’s lives and empowering them to embrace natural remedies and sustainable practices motivates me with purpose and dogged determination.
I believe in the plants, that they bless us every minute of the day, and hope to learn together how we might better serve them.
The first step - get these home ‘gardens’ growing actual plant medicine, trees, food, and homes for wildlife, not grass!
Lets go!
